Coaches & Directors

The Minnetonka Swim Club coaching staff are all veteran swimmers and experienced coaches who understand the developmental needs of your swimmers and athletes.

As former elite competitive swimmers, they know what it takes to get better and faster.  But more importantly, they understand that each athlete is an individual first--and as such, they put the long-term development of your swimmers first.

This means focusing physically on technique and core strength, and giving young athletes the foundation they need to build speed and endurance--without getting hurt.  While winning is great when swimmers are young, it is even better to be in a position to keep developing as they get older.  And, Minnetonka's coaching staff are committed to ensuring that long-term, your swimmers and athletes are prepared to swim to the highest level they can (and want to) achieve.

But physical development is only one part of the picture.  Young athletes also need to develop both their emotional and cognitive concept of competing.  Minnetonka Swim Club's coaching staff will prepare them not only as competitors, but with skills that will make them better students and better citizens.

We are here to support your needs. If your questions are related to workouts, meets, events, goal setting, and other swimming related needs, please contact one of the coaches. For all questions related to administrative, such as dues, safety, or policy issues, please contact one of the parent board members.

David is currently among the top 5 backstrokers in the country--no small feat when the top backstrokers in the world are in the United States.

He began his swimming career in Oklahoma, where he was a multiple state champion while swimming for his high school in Westmore. During his senior year in 2004, David owned the fastest high school 100 back time in the nation, and placed third in the 100 back at the U.S. Nationals.

In addition to placing in the Olympic trials in 2004 and 2008, David represented the United States in the 2007 World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand, and was the only Big Ten swimmer named to the the 2006 Pan Pacific Championships team in Victoria, British Columbia.

Minnetonka's coaching staff will also become David's trainers, coaches, and workout partners to keep him motivated toward achieving a new level of excellence and realizing his Olympic dream.  With this new level of coach/athlete on the team, the knowledge gained helping David will be knowledge applied to improve the performance of all of our swimmer athletes!
